8k79 …from the dark side of the moon to this year’s model…

A skew-whiff selection of songs from which their album of origin has been named.. and yet these are not “title tracks”, the albums are named from lyrics within these songs.. for instance we start with Brain Damage by Pink Floyd which contains the lyric “see you on the dark side of the moon” … you get the idea. Some bands/artists did this often so we have 2 from Radiohead, 2 from Pixies, 2 from Magazine, 2 from Elvis Costello – in fact it was listening to Alison with the line My Aim Is True that nudged me in this direction …. broadcast on radio Otautahi, NZ … enjoy, skew

Pink Floyd – Brain Damage (Dark Side Of The Moon)
TV On The Radio – The Wrong Way (Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes)
Radiohead – Reckoner (In Rainbows)
Talk Talk – April 5th (The Colour Of Spring)
Van Morrison – You Don’t Pull No Punches, But You Don’t Push The River (Veedon Fleece)
Flaming Lips – The Spark That Bled (The Softest Bulletin “the softest bullet ever shot”)
Elvis Costello – Alison (My Aim Is True)
Pixies – Mr Grieves (Doolittle)
Breeders – Cannonball (Last Splash)
Sonic Youth – Schizophrenia (Sister)
Magazine – Definitive Gaze (Real Life)
Beastie Boys – Sure Shot (Ill Communication)
Ramones – Do You Remember Rock’n’Roll Radio (End Of The Century)
Devo – Jocko Homo (Q Are We Not Men? A We Are Devo)
Gang Og Four – 5:45 (Entertainment)
Clash – Washington Bullets (Sandanista!)
Pixies – Oh My Golly! (Surfer Rosa)
